Angiography

 Angiography is used as a definitive method of diagnosing coronary heart disease.

A physical examination is performed before it begins and vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate are measured.

Cardiac angiography is usually done by inserting a long, narrow tube called a catheter into an artery in the hand or femur.

During angiography, a contrast medium is injected into the blood vessels of the heart, which is detected by X-rays.

The condition of the blood vessels can then be checked with the help of images taken from the heart.

If necessary, the doctor can also treat clogged arteries with procedures such as angioplasty.

• Locating the bleeding area
• Locating and removing blood clots in the arteries
• Treat certain types of tumors by blocking blood flow to them
• Take blood samples from specific areas to help diagnose your condition
